Kenny Omega tops the PWI 500 list 2021
Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced their annual PWI 500 list on September 8th 2021. Kenny Omega beat the likes of Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre to put his name on the number one spot. It is worth noting that Kenny Omega had a fabulous year. He was undefeated for the most part of the year.
This also happens to be the second year in running where a AEW superstar has managed to be on the number one spot. It is quite impressive from the company’s standpoint as the promotion was founded in 2019 itself.
On the other hand Reigns also had a fabulous year. He was also undefeated for the most part of the year and his character in the WWE has received praise all around. Reigns good run in the company was overshadowed by the AEW Superstar and Roman fell just short to Omega on the list.
Who were the Top 10 in PWI 500
The PWI 500 had some big names in their top 10 as one would expect. The top 10 were:
- Kenny Omega
- Roman Reigns
- Bobby Lashley
- Drew McIntyre
- Kota Ibushi
- Jon Moxley
- Will Ospreay
- Finn Balor
- Shingo Takagi
- Rich Swann
It is interesting to see that the most prominent wrestling promotion in the world WWE has only 4 stars in the list. With AEW bagging the number one spot for the second year running do you think that WWE will have to work harder on their storylines?
