AEW star Kenny Omega reacts after WWE announces several releases
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega speaks after WWE released 18 of its stars today and shocked the wrestling world. Omega took to Twitter and shared a little cryptic message.
Omega mentioned old rivals and old friends, which could indicate the superstars released today who have been his friends. He even said about bettering his records which could mean that these stars could lose to him on a one-on-one battle in the future and become a statistic.
“Old rivals, old friends, some I’ve never encountered… I don’t mind padding my record if they don’t mind being a statistic. See if I care.”
The Belt Collector might be challenging them to step up against him in the ring, or this could be a metaphor set up by All Elite Wrestling to drive the attention of the released stars towards them.
Mass clearance by WWE over the years has become a norm for them
This is not the first time that several superstars have been released by the company at once. Last year during the Pandemic also several superstars were removed by the company.
As long as Omega is concerned, he has never faced Karrion Kross or Keith Lee in his career yet. However, it would be a treat for the fans to watch one one-on-one action between Keith Lee and Kenny Omega.
There is still a long way to go for this speculation as the superstars have just released now. However, Kenny is the longest-reigning AEW World Champion, and he is about to face Hangman Adam Page at Full Gear in over a week.
This match has been a long wait for the AEW fans, hoping for a title exchange.
