AEW Star MJF is disappointed about not getting credit for popularising the term ‘MID.’
MJF recently took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment for not getting enough credit for popularising the term ‘MID’ on TikTok.
Friedman took to Twitter and talked about how MID is a part of the modern culture now, but he is not getting credit for it. He also asked people to remind that he was ‘their overlord.’
Here is what he had to say:
“MID, is a part of everyday modern culture and is super over on @tiktok_us. I’m not getting credit for it. If you know someone who loves this TikTok sound or now uses this word regularly, tag them in this post so they know I’m their overlord. If you don’t. You’re MIIIIIIIIID!”
How did ‘MID’ become popular on TikTok
MID’s ascension to Tik Tok has over 586 million views, but that is a wholly different story altogether. In September, a clip went viral featuring professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, popularly known as MJF, during an AEW match, hyped himself up in the ring and took aim at the midwest United States.
It’s called the Midwest because everything in it is mid, “Friedman yelled. “Skyline Chili? Mid! Your Cincinnati Reds who haven’t won a World Series since 1990? Much-Much-much-mid! And every single person who lives here is MID.”
The clip went viral on TikTok when uploaded by a user with the word “mid” punctuated by explosion sounds. And even the official account for All Elite Wrestling later added their own footage on October 29.
