AEW All Out matched Revolution in terms of PPV buy rate
AEW All Out featured a huge main event of Jon Moxley facing MJF and that played a role in the impressive PPV buy rate.
Reports suggest that the buy rate for All Out 2020 was between 100,000 and 110,000. This was in the same range as AEW Revolution where Moxley battled Chris Jericho for the AEW World Title.
AEW had been on a bit of a dip since then but these were impressive numbers. While All Out wasn’t a hit in all departments, the Moxley vs MJF clash was a decent battle.
Moxley used a lot of tricks to defeat MJF and even brought up the banned Paradigm Shift to get the win.
MJF was left seething at losing after a banned move was used, and he hit out at the “cheating” Moxley.
The PPV buy rate also ensured that this the third or fourth highest show in AEW’s short but eventful history.
MJF could use this excuse to get a rematch against Moxley in the future, but AEW have been impressive in recent weeks.
The Dynamite after All Out crossed 1million viewers, which was a huge deal for them. AEW and NXT have been in a ratings war ever since Dynamite moved to Wednesday.
However, both shows have moved their schedule for the NBA and other reasons. AEW has broadcast Dynamite on Thursday and Saturday fairly recently while the last two NXT episodes have taken place on Tuesdays.
AEW is an edgier promotion compared to WWE and there is a lot of blood during certain matches. The promotion also is aimed at an older audience compared to WWE and that seems to be working for them.
However, the recent numbers could be due to NXT and Dynamite being on different days too. Nevertheless, these are some great days for AEW and it will be interesting to see if they can keep building on these viewership numbers.
