NJPW President and Tony Khan exchanged greetings after the first-ever AEWxNJPW joint pay-per-view announcement
AEW has announced its first-ever joint pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling. After Wednesday’s huge announcement NJPW President and AEW President Tony Khan exchanged greetings on AEW Rampage.
NJPW Global’s Twitter handles shared the video where Khan and Takami Ohbari shared their views. First, Khan reflected on how they are honoured to have Ohbari here at AEW.
“We are honoured to have AEW Rampage and AEW Dynamite at New Japan World Now, and we are very excited that this partnership leading to AEW Forbidden door on June 26. One of the most significant events in Modern Wrestling history. AEW and New Japan come together. Tony Khan said.
NJPW President has this to say,
“I have spoken about making dreams come true in NJPW’s 50th year. That mission becomes all more important as we emerge from the Global Pandemic. This isn’t just about opening a door but What awaits on the other side is the true definition of Strong Style. That’s what we’ll show you all.”
It will be exciting to see as it will be a clash between some of the top stars from both the companies.
This Forbidden Door will be held on Sunday, June 26, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
The landmark wrestling event was announced on Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite after AEW president Tony Khan appeared on the stage with NJPW President Takami Ohbari.
The pair were about to make the announcement when they were interrupted by Adam Cole, who delivered the happy news for them. NJPW’s Jay White then promised he’d be there on June 26.
