AEW put on quite an emotional tribute for Brodie Lee and Sami Zayn was moved by one moment in particular
This week’s AEW Dynamite was the tribute for Brodie Lee and it was quite a ride. AEW decided to make the entire show about the former TNT Champion who passed away earlier this week at the age of 41.
Lee’s family was also present with Brodie Lee Jr, his son, wearing a mask and also have a role to play in all this.
The youngster is a huge wrestling fan and set up the matches. He also hit MJF with a kendo stick after his mask was removed. There were a lot of other great moments celebrating the life of Lee, who was loved by almost everyone in the wrestling business.
The final moment was extremely emotional as Jr and his mother came to the middle of the ring and laid down the shoes of the former WWE and AEW star.
This got a lot of people teared up but something else also got Sami Zayn emotional.
A big surprise from AEW
AEW has brought in several surprises over its short run and they had another one too. Erick Rowan, the former partner of Lee from their WWE days, made an impact during a six-man tag match.
They were part of the Bludgeon Brothers and also won the tag titles. Rowan and Lee go way back during their Bray Wyatt days, and a sign that Rowan was holding got Zayn.
The message on the card read:
“Goodbye for now, my brother. See you down the road”.
This was a difficult show for many to partake in and many stars broke down before and after their matches.
Lee (FKA Luke Harper from his WWE days) will be a big miss for everyone. A talented wrestler and a loving husband and father was taken away too early. AEW has done a great job with this tribute while the wrestlers are ensuring they share every Brodie Lee story they can.
