Sammy Guevara spoke about the future of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson
It seems that Sammy Guevara believes there is a curse regarding the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight.
The two UFC stars have been stated to meet five times in the past, including at UFC 249, but that has been called off for some reason or another.
This time, it was due to the coronavirus as Khabib is stuck in Russia. The replacement fight was between Justin Gaethje and Ferguson at UFC 249 with the interim Lightweight title on the line. Gaethje put on an incredible performance and dominated his rival.
Gaethje might have won the fight in the final round, but Ferguson barely got him in the last two rounds.
This also means that Gaethje faces Khabib for the unification clash with the Russian undefeated in his MMA career.
However, questions are arising if we will ever see Khabib vs Ferguson. The pair have never met in their careers, and Guevara believed this fight will never happen:

Guevara is one of the top stars in AEW, but he might be right regarding the possibility of Khabib vs Ferguson happening.
Gaethje ready for the fight
However, Guevara should be excited at the prospect of another UFC fight. Gaethje vs Khabib should be interesting not only because of their wrestling background.
The pair also seem to have a lot of respect for each other. Further, Ali Abdelaziz manages both stars, so it should be interesting how things go between them.
Gaethje vs Khabib should be in the works once travel restrictions are lifted. Also, Khabib would be out of action for a while due to Ramadan, but the fighting champion is ready for the bout.
Guevara could still get to see Khabib vs Ferguson, but after UFC 249, it seems unlikely to ever happen.
