Matt Hardy made his AEW Dynamite debut this week by teaming up with Kenny Omega. The pair took on Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Street Fight. However, it was The Inner Circle who wound up having the last laugh at the end of the show.
The babyfaces seemed to have the match locked up early on when Hardy jumped off a ladder and sent Guevara through a table. But Jake Hager pulled the referee out of the ring.
Following a commercial break, Hager and Jericho trapped Hardy inside of an ice machine, leaving Omega to fight on his own.
Eventually Hardy broke out of the ice machine in new attire, which Excalibur clarified as Hardy’s alter-ego Damascus. He got ahold of a golf cart and drove it right at the heels, clipping both Jericho and Guevara.
Sammy Guevara on his time with WWE before AEW
AEW’s Sammy Guevara has been an outspoken character and has become an integral part of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction in All Elite Wrestling.
As potentially one of the biggest future stars of the company, Guevara has gotten quite some attention.
He spoke about how he worked in WWE for a while – a stint that not too many people may know about. At the time, working in WWE was a dream for Guevara and he got to wrestle in a couple of Dark matches with Adam Rose.
He also had an actual match with Matadores, Primo, and Epico. Guevara said that when he was being pinned in the match, the referee actually thanked him saying it was one of the best dark matches that he had been a part of.
He went on to say that he received advice from Mark Henry after the match, where Henry told him that they had put on a good match but to not get a big head. Guevara said that the key was to keep working hard.
