Samuray del Sol got a shot at the Lucha Libre AAA Tag Team titles on his AEW debut
There were some big surprises on this week’s AEW Dynamite and one of them saw former WWE star Kalisto turn up for a tag match.
Kalisto was released by WWE recently and had been teasing a return to action, including boxing. However, not many would have expected him to come out on AEW.
The news was shared just a few hours before AEW Dynamite with Samuray del Sol (Kalisto) and Aerostar teaming up to face FTR.
FTR hold the Lucha Libre AAA tag titles and the quartet put on quite a show on Dynamite.
This was a high flying match with del Sol and Aerostar doing all they could to get the better of the veterans.
However, the use of the ropes ensured that the champions kept their belts despite a concerted effort.
Nevertheless, this was a great debut for del Sol and he had an incredible message to share after the match.
Samuray del Sol remembers Jon Huber
Most will remember Jon Huber (FKA Brodie Lee and Luke Harper) for his time in both WWE and AEW.
While he won the TNT title on AEW, the wrestler passed away due to lung problems. This shocked many in the business and tributes have been flowing in for Huber ever since.
Del Sol also took time out to highlight that he spoke with Huber before making his debut on AEW. The former WWE star posted a great message on Twitter and added that Huber would be in his heart forever.
“Prayed and talked to John(Brodie lee) before my match.. thank you for showing me your home @AEW and giving me the strength and energy I need it today forever your in my heart Hermano…”
Kalisto (Samuray del Sol) isn’t the first star to bring up just how great Huber was, and he won’t be the last.
The wrestling world lost a gem extremely early but his memories live on thanks to such messages and stories from other stars.
