Shane Strickland (AKA Isaiah Swerve Scott) set to sign for All Elite Wrestling

Shane Strickland (Isaiah Swerve Scott) is a former WWE North American Champion but he could be on his way to AEW

AEW could be set to land another WWE star in Shane Strickland (AKA Isaiah Swerve Scott). Sean Ross Sapp (h/t Bleacher Report) shared the news.

Strickland was one of the top stars on NXT and had even formed his own faction in Hit Row. However, he, and the rest of his stable members, were eventually released at the end of 2021.

Hit Row Records made their official debut on NXT on Tuesday (WWE)

It did come as a huge shock to see Scott being released given that he had recently won the North American title.

He has wrestled in Progress and New Japan, but it will be interesting to see what is next for him. AEW have already signed another former WWE star recently in Buddy Matthews. He has teamed up with former rival Malakai Black, but AEW should have enough in them to create a compelling storyline for Strickland when he joins.

What could Shane Strickland do on AEW?

Hit Row was one of the best things to have happened to NXT and WWE. They brought a new angle to factions with talk about music and money, and it certainly caught many out when the entire faction was released.

It will be interesting to see if Strickland forms his faction again on AEW since Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis and B-Fab were all great in WWE.

Strickland, for his part, was an excellent singles competitor too, so AEW could run with that. He has championship pedigree too having won several titles throughout his career.

While he only won the NXT North American title once, he could have done a lot more if he stuck with WWE.

AEW have signed another quality talent from WWE, and hopefully, they give him a decent run in the promotion.
