Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio will meet in an Eye for an Eye match, something that AEW had done in the past

Tony Khan and Chris Jericho both took shots at WWE for the decision to name an Eye for an Eye match at Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.

Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio face off in this clash with a gruesome stipulation. Apparently, a wrestler has to pull his opponent’s eye out to win the match.

WWE has become a PG show over the past few years and it will be interesting to see how they go about this match.

However, Khan and Jericho didn’t take this lightly. Jericho, who is one of the biggest names on AEW, tweeted that his promotion had already done a similar match which featured Jon Moxley.

Moxley is a former WWE Champion and is the current AEW Champion too. He had injured his eye in a previous match and faced off against Santana of the Inner Circle in this special clash.

Jericho even tweeted the date of this clash, which was in February, and shot at WWE by saying “You’re welcome”.

Khan replied to this with a GIF from Spider-Man by claiming he was a genius:

A war is on

The ratings war between AEW and NXT has been heating up quite well in recent weeks. AEW announced they would hold Fyter Fest as a two-day event rather than a PPV, and WWE brought out the Great American Bash on NXT to counter it.

WWE and AEW stars have started hitting out at each other too on social media, and this was the latest move.

It will be interesting to see how this match goes at Extreme Rules. However, WWE seems to be winning the Wednesday Night Wars in recent weeks over AEW. They beat AEW in the ratings for two straight shows and could do the same this Wednesday too.
