AEW President Tony Khan responds to Brian Kendrick controversy

Former WWE Superstar Brian Kendrick was about to make his AEW debut today, but his match was scrapped just one hour before the show on Brian’s remarks of controversial comments.

Brian Kendrick is a former WWE NXT Superstar (WWE)

AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter and said that the decision was born in the light of “abhorrent and offensive” comments made, a decade ago. Khan also said that there is no room in AEW for the views expressed by Brian.

We’ve been made aware of abhorrent & offensive comments made in the past by Brian Kendrick. There’s no room in AEW for the views expressed by Brian. We think it’s best for all that Brian be pulled from tonight’s card as we gather more info. We’ll announce a replacement bout ASAP.

Kendrick has discussed several conspiracy theories involving the Illuminati, Jews and Zionists. He has also previously made comments regarding conspiracies surrounding 9/11, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and controversial views on the Holocaust.

Kendrick requested his release from WWE and had received it a few days back, and it is no longer under contract. AEW then announced that Kendrick will make his debut against Jon Moxley tomorrow on Dynamite at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

It is now quite clear that Kendrick won’t be a part of AEW, at least for now, and won’t compete in recent matches. Furthermore, he can’t go to WWE since he asked for a release from the company.

Brian Kendrick last wrestled in WWE on the October 30 episode of 205 Live, teaming with Mansoor to defeat Ever Rise.
