AEW Star Ray Fenix suffers injury during Dynamite
Last Night AEW Dynamite show ended with an injury for Ray Fenix. It has been reported that Fenix suffered a hand injury after being strangled across the table during an AEW World Cup match.
According to PWInsider, Fenix was taken to hospital, and it has been specified that he might have moved his elbow, which might be small considering how he looked on the spot.
Some reports from Brian Alvarez and Cassidy Haynes state that Phoenix suffered a broken arm on the spot.
“Fenix broken arm heading to hospital”
Ray Fenix might need surgery after a horrific injury at AEW Dynamite.
It happened when Luchasaurus hit the chokeslam from the outside through a table on Fenix. Ray fell awkwardly, and his arm was utterly bent back at the elbow.
The AEW showed a recurrence of the horrific injury several times before the end of the game. So it is pretty clear that Phoenix was in bad shape. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio updated that Phoenix will most likely need surgery.
“I saw it and I can’t even turn it back. Then they showed up again. So a horrible, horrible injury. He was hospitalized. I was probably told that he was in need of surgery.” [via Ace Sparks]
It was also speculated that the nature of Phoenix’s injury was that the elbow was out. Jungle boy looked concerned on his face as they finished the fight.
Fenix’s injury was unfortunate for the Jurrasic Express to win the title for the first time at AEW. The Lucha brothers enjoyed a great run as champions.
