AEW got the better of NXT this week and Chris Jericho was ready to rub it in
Chris Jericho continued the ratings war between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT by responding to the latest figures.
NXT had beaten AEW during the two weeks of the Great American Bash in terms of the number of viewers watching the show.
However, Jericho and Tony Khan kept on bringing the fact that their promotion was getting more viewers from the important 18-49 age demography.
That is the age that advertisers also are keen on, according to Jericho, and AEW got the better of WWE this week.
Bryan Alvarez shared the numbers with AEW getting more than 150,000 additional viewers on average. However, Jericho again brought up the key demography part, something that the network and advertisers cared about:
Le Champion tweeted the following update:
“Cool that we won the overall viewers, but advertisers and the network don’t really care. All that matters is we CRUSHED it in THE DEMO! 0.29 to 0.14! #DemoGod @AEWrestling @wwe”
The former WWE star is one of the greatest performers in the ring and is possibly the biggest name on AEW.
While WWE hasn’t really said a lot about the numbers except for one of two updates, Jericho has spoken about this during some of his promos too.
Le Champion has tweeted about these numbers in the past, and it is interesting to see he is continuing to do so.
AEW has put a mark on WWE and the Great American Bash was a response to a move from Tony Khan’s promotion.
Fyter Fest was a huge PPV for the promotion. However, they decided to split it over two Wednesdays with some top matches.
WWE then brought up the Great American Bash to counter Fyter Fest, and it worked as they got more viewers. But AEW seems to have gotten the last laugh as they got more viewers from the key demo and put up some great numbers this week.
