WWE Veteran William Regal joins hands with AEW

AEW is signing some absolute legends of the industry in recent times. AEW’s latest Pay-per-view Revolution sprung in another surprise as former General Manager of NXT – William Regal made his debut.

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson were involved in a brutal match. Both the wrestlers go back a long way and they delivered an absolute classic. They countered one another’s moves and brought out new ones to surprise the audience.

Both the superstars delivered some lethal maneuvers and busted each other open. The match also featured many painful-looking submission holds. In the end, Moxley got the better of The American Dragon. Bryan went for a triangle choke but Moxley countered it into a bridging pinning combination to secure the victory. The finish was a bit controversial but that is another story. It’s what happened next that surprised everyone.

The animosity between Bryan and Moxley was such that they continued striking each other. This resulted in referees and security personnel coming out and trying to stop the brawl but this was to no avail though as both the superstars wouldn’t relent.

Out came the former two-time Intercontinental Champion, William Regal. He looked quite frustrated at seeing the two superstars beating each other copiously. Regal entered the ring and slapped both the wrestlers. He eventually, made them shake hands.

William Regal is a stalwart of WWE and of the wrestling business as well. His stupendous knowledge of wrestling and how the business works is an asset. Tony Khan would confirm in a tweet that Regal has signed for the company.

Fans have been buzzing ever since the 53-year-old appeared at Revolution and we take a look at what they have been saying about the big signing:

Regal was released from WWE on January 5 as a part of the major overhaul of WWE NXT and this ended his 21-year association with the promotion.

William Regal’s role in the company hasn’t been revealed as yet. Fans are happy, however, to see Regal in a wrestling promotion once again.
