Bournemouth got themselves back into the top ten with an impressive 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in their previous outing but the Cherries will be up against it when they make the trip to north London to face a rampant Spurs unit on Boxing Day.
Eddie Howe’s men have recovered from their slump in form after a stellar start to the campaign and they will have to pull the rabbit out of the hat to upset the odds against Tottenham on Wednesday.
Spurs registered an emphatic 6-2 win over Everton away from home in the Premier League on Sunday and the Lilywhotes will be the outright favourites to close the gap on Liverpool at the top of the table.
Bournemouth will be without the services of Lewis Cook, Dan Gosling and Adam Smith all of whom are ruled out with knee injuries. Eddie Howe will not be expected to make too many changes to the line-up that played against Brighton.
The veteran made a number of good stops in the last game to bag a clean sheet and he has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.
He kept things tight at the back and solid comfortable with the ball at his feet.
The Dutchman has been one of the driving forces behind Bournemouth’s success this season, putting in multiple solid shifts at the back.
The Englishman has been a reliable presence at the heart of the defence alongside Ake and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.
The veteran has contributed equally to both attack and defence in recent weeks and should start on Wednesday.
The Colombian has been one of the key figures for the Cherries in the middle of the park and put in a decent shift last week.
The South African did not do too much wrong against Brighton and should continue in the absence of Cook and Gosling.
He picked up his 8th assist of the season to set up Brooks with a fine cross and Howe should hand him a start ahead of Junior Stanislas who had a poor game.
The youngster scored a brace in the last game and Bournemouth will need something similar from their prodigious youngster on Boxing Day.
He wasn’t particularly impressive last week but he is one of the indispensable components of Bournemouth’s attack.
He did not have much of an impact against Brighton but Howe must rely on him to deliver the goods against Spurs in the mid-week clash.
