Alex Albon F1 Career
Albon made his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso in 2019. He scored his first Formula One point at the Bahrain GP when he finished 9th. Halfway through the season, RedBull Racing announced that they will be bringing in Albon to replace the underperforming Pierre Gasly. Albon ended the 2019 season with 92 points on the 8th position. He also won the Rookie of the year award in 2019.
Red Bull announced that they will be retaining Albon for the 2020 season as he showed great potential. Albon did better than his first season scoring 105 points and finishing in the 7th position. He also earned his first two Formula One podium finishes in the 2020 season. Red Bull however expected Albon to do much better and demoted him as a reserve driver and gave his seat to Sergio Perez.
Williams Racing announced recently that Alex Albon will be taking the place of George Russell who is headed to Mercedes for the 2022 season.
