However, Morono once again returned to Legacy FC and won the welterweight championship in December 2015.

Following his title win, Morono moved to the UFC and made his debut against Kyle Noke at UFC 195.

Starting off with a split decision victory, Morono began feeling the heat, as he won just 2 of his next five fights.

Morono then went on a three-fight win streak, before being knocked out by Khaos Williams at UFC 247 in February 2020.
