Alistair Overeem suffered a deep cut to his lip in the loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik but was fixed by the doctors
Dutch MMA star Alistair Overeem had a gruesome cut on his lip after the loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik but was treated extremely well after his UFC fight.
The 39-year-old was the main draw at the UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Rozenstruik fight. The match went till the fifth round when it was called off.
Overeem was seen with a massively cut lip and it seemed like a chunk of his face was missing.
The 39-year-old Dutch star made a great recovery and posted a photo of his before and after surgery pictures.
He also thanked the UFC team that took him to the hospital and the doctors that repaired his face.
It certainly is a testament to the work done by all members to see Overeem back to his best. The 39-year-old has won several titles during his time in MMA, and it will be interesting to see when he is back in action.
Overeem’s MMA record
The 39-year-old has been in the MMA circles for many years and currently holds a 45-18 record.
Overeem form over the past six fights has been mixed with three wins and three losses. He was also a kick-boxer before making the jump up to MMA and held a record of 10 wins and four losses.
He won the K-1 2010 World Grand Prix and also held the Strikeforce Heavyweight Championship.

Overeem also was the DREAM Heavyweight Champion once but he is yet to pick up a title in the UFC.
