The missing person quest takes place in the Serling Hotel in the Ocean Avenue area of Dead Island 2. There are 6 lost and found weapon quests and 9 missing person quests.
On Ocean Avenue, there will be a board of posters of missing persons. You have to collect these Posters for the quest to finish and it can be completed at any point after that.
Not all the missing person Quest will be available immediately but only some of the missing people are in Dead Island which has not been unlocked yet.
The best way to find out what is available is to go to the Sterling Hotel where you will find a missing person wall in the hallway near the lobby. This place has many posters of the missing people scattered around. But there is only one available to pick up for a quest and it will have a glow around it when you are close to the wall.
Once you collect the poster the Quest will begin. Once you take it off the wall you will have to open the Quest menu under lost and found in the Dead Island 2. This poster will be your first clue for every Quest. It will give you a general overview of who is missing as well as who was last seen and where.
After receiving this information you can follow the hints to the location to find further clues about the missing person which will end with the question “where in hell is everyone”. This is all the information you will have and not any more information about them.
In this location, you will find three missing people.The first one is Jamal who you will be able to track down in the two security huts near the hotel area except once out of the hotels and trends. The clue will suggest that Jamal was left in a red truck with vehicle number 8 PG P V 7. Check all the areas on the map with this lead and Jamal can be found.kill the Zombies in the area to pick up Jamal’s key to open the crate on the back of his truck. You will find a note that will say that Jamal was the Zombie that dropped the key and after this quest will be completed.
Laura can be found near the police station which is marked on the Venice Beach map. You will find two clues in the main section of the station one near the lockers and another one on a dash it will suggest that Laura has been locked in a prison cell. Check this lead in the North East area of the police station to find the police chief and get his key.
Take this key back to the station and go to the lock where Laura is locked up and unlock her cell but you will find that she has already been turned into a zombie by Emily. This would complete The Hunt.
The next person is Davis who you can find near the Venice Beach in the North Eastern Point. Find the bus on which Davis tried to board and then on the front steps of it, you will find a clue that will take you to his pier. Check the parked buses at the Northeast near the pier to find a Crusher who will be working around and that is Davis.
The first person in this location is Pablo. His first lead will take him to two Venice Beach locations: Muscle Beach Nutrition, which is east of the police station on the map, and Rose’s Tattoo Parlour, which is north of the police station on a corner. Use the Circuit Breaker from Venice Auto to enter Muscle Beach Nutrition, which is located behind the Nutrition store. The next visit is the marijuana store in Venice Beach, which is located at the northwest corner of all the stores. One of the zombies in the alley south of it holds the key to open it. Go inside the store to discover Pablo.
The next person is Shane who is a lifeguard and can be found through the lifeguard huts. Hut 18 is the next one north on the beach, so check the one on the south end close to Blue Crab Grill for a hint. When Nell is killed, a clue she drops will indicate that Shane is moving towards HQ, which is on the beach close to the pier. Nell will be in a zombie state and will be waiting here. To find a note revealing that Shane has long since vanished, TJ, a Crusher, must be removed from this location.
Since Steve is an actor, Monarch Studios should be the first place you look to find this missing person.
