Allen Iverson is a retired NBA player who got more fame through controversies. Iverson was popular even before making his debut in the NBA. Allen Iverson has had many legal issues in his career. It all started when he was 17. Allen Iverson and his friends played bowling at Bowling Alley of Hampton. Iverson and his gang were in a clash against patrons. The crowd supported Iverson and it led to a fight between the white crowd and black crowd.

The patrons were unable to stop the crowd. Allen Iverson was furious and hit a woman with a chair. After the incident, Allen Iverson was given a 15-year imprisonment, but he was sent to News City Farm, a correctional facility for four months. The Virginia Court of Appeals overturned the decision as there was no proof. Iverson also revealed he learned so many things in the Jail and took it as an experience. Allen Iverson has always been involved in legal troubles.

After completing his time in jail, Allen Iverson moved to the Richard Milburn High School which also helped him secure a sponsorship by John Thompson to join the Georgetown Hoyas college basketball team. Iverson had a successful season for his college team and he was eventually selected in the NBA 1996 Draft.

Allen Iverson married Tawanna Turner in 2001. It was 2002 when reports indicated Allen Iverson had beaten his wife and sent her out of his home. Allen Iverson went to search for her and he threatened random people with guns. The news was the talk of the town, but eventually Allen Iverson won the case as there was no proper evidence. Allen Iverson continued his wrongdoing in the following years as well. In 2005, he was accused of urinating a can at Bally’s Atlantic City Casino. The Casino Management banned him from entering their premises forever.

Another incident featuring Allen Iverson at the Trump Taj Mahal casino remains one of the most funny incidents in NBA history. After Iverson’s team won the game, he went to the casino and won a poker match. Allen Iverson was paid an extra $10,000 chips by the dealer and this resulted in a clash. The Casino staff asked Iverson to return the extra chips, but he denied and started an argument.

In 2005, Allen Iverson’s bodyguard, Jason Kane, brought him more shame. Kane attacked a person at a Nightclub in Washington DC. Reports revealed Jason Kane threatened the guy to leave the club’s VIP section to bring in Iverson’s friend. The victim named Marlin Godfrey had bruises and his eye was damaged. A documentary film, No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson, based on Iverson’s 1993 bowling alley incident was released on ESPN.
