Alone in the Dark 2024 is out now to scare the hell out of players. This franchise has been relevant in the gaming industry for 30 years and it still seems like it’s going strong. There are 6 mainline games and other entertainment products released in this franchise.
There was a great hype when this 2024 version was announced and the fact that this game is at a discounted price as of now is great news for gamers. The basic gameplay revolves around a detective exploring an isolated place.
Alone in the Dark Legacy
Alone in the Dark series is one of the 1st survival horror franchises that made headlines in the early 90s. It can be said that this game revolutionized the survival horror genre of gaming.
Other franchises that made this genre famous are the Resident Evil Franchise and the Silent Hill Franchise. It was surprising that this game would get a reboot but thanks to the publishers THQ Nordic to make this dream come true for horror game fanatics. If you are wondering why this game is at a discounted price even though it was released just a few days prior, we have some personal theories that might make sense.
Alone in the Dark Gameplay
The gameplay of Alone in the Dark 2024 revolves around controlling two main characters, Emily Hardwood and Edward Carnby. These characters are portrayed by well-known actors i.e. Jodie Comer who is famous for Killing Eve and David Harbour who is famous for Stranger Things.
The facial capture and voice acting roles are both portrayed by these actors which gives this game a level of authenticity and realistic nature. The core of the gameplay is to explore the Derceto Manor and players are set to solve puzzles and unravel the mystery behind the supernatural/ sci-fi entities haunting this place.
To promote the game, many content creators were invited to a real-life haunted house experience that mimics the game and also let them face their fears when they are “alone in the dark”.
New Games are Discounted?
The most surprising fact about this release is the discounted price of a new game. There might be 2 main reasons the developers opted for this method. The first and most obvious method is that the review codes for this game were already provided to other game reviewers and critics.
Despite the hype, the game received mixed reviews mostly due to the outdated gameplay and the tedious tasks. The 2nd reason might be that this game might already earned back all its revenue via pre orders and regular purchases so it is a safe bet for developers to induce a discounted price on this product.
The horror game genre is not going to stop anytime soon especially due to releases such as Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 last year and Outlast Trials this year.
