Amanda ‘The Lioness’ Nunes might not have had the greatest of starts in her MMA career but she is proof that quality always rises to the top.

The UFC Star currently holds two belts in the UFC and several records too. Nunes has beaten six current or former UFC champions and many consider her to be the best female athlete ever in MMA.

The Brazilian was born in Pojuca, a small town outside Bahia and is the youngest of three sisters. Nunes started training in Karate when she was four and picked up boxing when she was 16.

She made $12,000 on her UFC debut as she beat Sheila Gaff. Some of her big payouts include the wins over Miesha Tate ($180,000), Ronda Rousey ($290,000) and Valentina Shevchenko ($260,000).

The Lioness made a whopping $440,000 and $590,000 in her wins over Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm, respectively. Nunes made more than $400,000 in her last two outings.

In her recent title win over Julianna Pena at UFC 277, Nunes made a staggering $1,032,000. Before retirement, Amanda Nunes defeated Rondo Rousey and earned over $300k as a prize amount. She also had endorsements with the Ten Spring Water brand.

She then lost a couple of fights to Sarah D’Alelio and Alexis Davis before making her UFC debut. Nunes defeated Sheila Gaff on her UFC debut and then beat Germain de Randamie before losing to Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in 2014.

She has not lost a fight since that Zingano one and holds both the UFC Featherweight and Bantamweight titles.

Nunes has had six successful title defences since winning the crowns and has beaten stars such as Holly Holm, Valentina Shevchenko, Cris Cyborg, Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey.

Her winning streak, and her eventual reign as the women’s bantamweight champion came to an end when Julianna Pena stopped her in round 2 (via. submission) at UFC 269.
