World No.2 Rafael Nadal on Saturday made an announcement via his Instagram page that an exhibition match at Atlanta is next in his schedule.
Nadal will be facing his friend and on-court rival Grigor Dimitrov at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia on March 2.
A visibly happy Nadal made the announcement via his Instagram account and said that he was very excited to play in Georgia, where he will be appearing for the first time. He made the post public in his social media handle with the caption: “A little announcement…. ATLANTA”.
Nadal also added that it would be an incredible match and invited all the tennis fans from around the world to join and watch the two of them play.
He ended with a note saying that he hoped he would see them all in Atlanta. Meanwhile, Dimitrov is the current World No. 20 and is coached by former American tennis great Andre Agassi.
Nadal’s long-time rival Roger Federer gifted his racquet to the Spaniard after their ‘Match for Africa’ exhibition match held in South Africa recently.
The Rafael Nadal Academy tweeted a picture after the equipment arrived at their centre and announced that it will be displayed in the academy’s museum in Mallorca alongside other memorabilia.
Federer gave Nadal the racquet as a token of gratitude for accepting his invitation to play in South Africa which was played to raise money for the Roger Federer Foundation. The Swiss star signed the handle and wrote the message: “Rafa, thanks for your ongoing help. Pleasure always. Cape Town 2020.”
