The IIconics were disbanded on WWE Raw and that led to a lot of tears and fears
The IIconics had the chance of becoming the No.1 contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag titles as they face off against the Riott Squad.
However, there was a huge stipulation for the losing team. The losers would have to disband, and that wasn’t going to be great for either side.
That was one of the big stories running in this week’s WWE and we check out if this made it as a hit or a miss.
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler seemed to have some friction between them as Asuka wanted one of them to face her.
However, the Women’s champion seems to have targetted Mickie James. Now, there is nothing wrong with James but Asuka needs to take on someone who is an actual rival for her title.
James is one of the most experienced wrestlers in the business, but the Japanese certainly needs someone else to set up a rivalry.
Another week, another Retribution attack which leads to nothing. The faction tore up Raw as they attacked Zelina Vega, Andrade and the Street Profits, but again, we learned nothing about them.
This was a wasted segment by WWE and interest in Retribution is waning and fast. We have written about Retribution needing something more about them but WWE just isn’t listening one bit.
The IIconics will now have to split up after Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan got a win. While it is sad seeing Peyton Royce and Billie Kay split it, this could open the doors for both of them.
WWE hasn’t handled the pair properly, even though they are former tag champions. Royce on Raw and Kay on SmackDown or vice versa could see the pair explore their singles abilities.
The pair have always been together in WWE but this could be an interesting time for the Aussies.
Randy Orton had a tough clash against Kevin Owens for a place in the main event. Instead of having a long battle with him, he used Aleister Black to attack KO.
This was a perfect play from Orton as he saved up energy for the main event, didn’t get his hands dirty and stuck to his heel nature.
A short match between Orton and Owens might have been a missed spot, but using Black to destroy KO was pure evil genius.
Orton, Seth Rollins and Keith Lee made it to the main event for a shot at Drew McIntyre’s gold.
The match was a brilliant one, even though it was a bit short. The ending was brilliant too as Orton got the win, however, WWE saved Lee.
Orton pinned Rollins after Lee had hit the Spirit Bomb. The Viper came out from nowhere to land his trademark RKO as he gets another shot at McIntyre.
Lee and Rollins were brilliant while Orton used his abilities to the best and could be a champion again.
