Ridge Holland was the latest NXT star to pick up a very serious injury on the show
The NXT injury curse was back as Ridge Holland was the latest star to pick up a serious injury.
This came on the back of Finn Balor fracturing his jaw and Tegan Nox picking up an ACL injury recently.
Holland was getting a great push by WWE but his leg collapsed while trying to catch Oney Lorcan. The youngster showed the thumbs up while being stretchered out but it seems he could be out for a long time.
The injury was something that no one wanted to see and we wish him the best. NXT had a decent show this week with more hits than misses.
However, one segment didn’t cut it and we start off with that.
Austin Theory took on Leon Ruff and defeated the new NXT star before being destroyed by Dexter Lumis.
Seeing Lumis back was great but WWE wasted this segment by making Theory look a little weak. They could have simply set up Lumis vs Theory with Lumis getting the win instead of putting up a squash match basically twice in a matter of minutes.
Ember Moon back on NXT is great not only for the brand but also for the former champion. She looked in exceptional form as she won the tag team clash alongside Rhea Ripley.
Moon looked to be in the form of her life and she should face Io Shirai for the women’s title next. It is great that she recovered from her injury and it will be interesting to see what is next.
Another star getting a decent push is Kushida. The Time splitter was in action on NXT and put up quite a show against Tommaso Ciampa.
He might have lost thanks to Velveteen Dream interfering but Kushida should take on his rival again.
Kushida had been overlooked by NXT for a while but it is great seeing him get a lot of time on TV.
Two more women stole the show for different reasons on NXT. Shotzi Blackheart got a great win over Xia Li and continued her winning streak.
However, Li got a letter for another star and it will be interesting to see what is next for her. The Chinese star has turned heel in recent weeks and this could be a career-defining role for her on NXT.
