Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson is known for his incredible knockouts during his UFC career
The UFC might not have seen someone throw a punch like Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.
The 36-year-old is another one of the top stars never to have won a UFC title, but that doesn’t take away from his performances in the Octagon.
Johnson had a history of wrestling during his college days and even worked as a bouncer after college.
His friend asked him to take up MMA at the age of 20, and Rumble certainly made a name for himself in the Octagon.
The American had only three fights to his name before he was signed by the UFC. He picked up a win in his first UFC outing, a fight he had accepted with a week’s notice as another star was injured.
Johnson knocked out Chad Reiner within 13 seconds of the first round, and that was a perfect way to make a name for himself.
Johnson was 3-0 before entering the UFC circuit and after winning his first fight in the promotion he lost the next one.
The American has fought in the Heavyweight and Light heavyweight divisions with wins over top stars such as Ryan Bader and Alexander Gustafsson.
However, Daniel Cormier seems to be a thorn in Johnson’s side. He has met DC twice for the Light Heavyweight title and has lost both times.
His last UFC outing was against Cormier for the Light Heavyweight title at UFC 210 in 2017. Johnson lost that and has not been seen in an Octagon.
The American might have retired from the sport in 2017 but he was mounting a comeback in 2020 and was hopeful of getting back into action.
There isn’t much information available of Anthony Johnson and his wife, though there have been reports of the star being in a relationship with his girlfriend.
He also has two children with an ex-girlfriend but not much is known about them either. Johnson has been arrested by the police also a couple of times for domestic violence against his girlfriends.
Johnson was one of the top UFC stars during his time in the promotion and earned a lot of money thanks to his knockouts.
The American has an estimated net worth of $4million, most of which was earned during his fighting days.
Johnson also tried his hand in the business side of things by launching a CBD oil company. He was also the head of fighter relations for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships.
