Are you not aware of the Apex Legends Ranking System? Do not worry, we have everything that you should know about it.

It is up to you and your teammates to take down opponents of similar skill levels in Apex Legends’ ranked queue if you believe you’re a top player. The matchmaker will match you up with opponents of similar skill levels, and you’ll get some takedowns, survive, and earn some RP. It is a place where players can compete against similarly skilled opponents in competitive matches.

There are a few notable differences between ranked queues and regular queues. Players who are new to ranked games are encouraged to hone their gunplay, learn the maps, and get familiar with all the game elements before entering the world. There are competitive periods in ranked leagues known as “Series.” The first is scheduled to run from July through September in Season 2.

In the future, Ranked Series may run at a slower pace than Apex Seasons, as developers need more time for players to settle on their true skill levels. We are here to help you understand the Apex Legends Ranking System. So, read below to know everything about it.

Apex Legends Ranking System

As far as gameplay is concerned, Ranked matches are almost exactly the same as standard Trios. You can queue up by yourself or with up to two others in a party and play against 19 other teams on a map. However, the ranked queue sorts players according to their ranked points (RP).

The eight tiers in Apex Legends Ranking System include Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Apex Predator. Each of the first five tiers is divided into four divisions, with division four being the lowest. 750 players are counted only in Apex Predator tier.

RP requirement for division IV of each tier

In most cases, players are matched with opponents of the same rank. Party placement is determined by the highest tier reached. Players above Platinum can’t queue together with players two tiers below them when queueing together. The ranked queue is only open to Platinum players and Diamonds. See below the RP requirement for division IV of each tier.

  • Rookie: 0 RP
  • Bronze: 1000 RP
  • Silver: 3000 RP
  • Gold: 5400 RP
  • Platinum: 8200 RP
  • Diamond: 11400 RP
  • Master: 15000 RP
  • Apex Predator: top 750 players with over 15000 RP

How do you lose RP?

A player loses RP based on their tier whenever they start a match. Rookies don’t lose any RP just by playing the game, so they can rank up with enough games played, slowly. Every other tier loses RP as follows:

  • Rookie: 0 RP
  • Bronze: 10-19 RP
  • Silver: 22-31 RP
  • Gold: 34-43 RP
  • Platinum: 46-55 RP
  • Diamond: 58-67 RP
  • Master and Apex Predator: 70 RP, +5 for every 1000RP earned, maxing out at 175

It is not possible to go down a tier due to this RP loss. That means that if you reach Platinum, for example, in a ranked split, you cannot drop to Gold. RP loss can cause players to drop divisions. RP loss can also lead players to lose their status if they drop below division cutoffs. Apex Predators players can lose their status if they stop ranking within the top 750, according to their rank.

How to gain RP?

As a result of the RP gains, the match winner will receive 250 points if they get at least six takedowns during the match, which will be reduced by their current tier’s entry fee. For players near the top of the ladder to climb the ladder, they must have a high kill/death ratio in their matches and survive long in their matches due to the increasing costs of joining the match and the increasing requirements for reaching higher divisions and tiers.

RP can be obtained in two different methods. The first is to finish among the top 13 teams. The more RP you earn, the closer you are to the top position. If you win the match, you can only earn a total of 100 RP in this manner.

If you are able to land a kill or assist on an opponent, you will earn RP. Furthermore, If you deal damage to an opponent that someone else kills, at least 10 seconds later, it counts as an assist. Up to a cap of six kills per match, players will receive RP for each kill. The amount of RP per kill is determined by the team’s standing at the end of the match, from 10 RP if you’re below 10th place to 25 RP for winning. After the game is over, your team’s total RP gains are calculated.

Required level

You will need to be level 10 or higher in order to join ranked leagues. In your lobby, the matchmaker will find the highest-ranked player and charge each player the appropriate match cost. Each player will pay the appropriate price according to their current rank when queueing up with other friends. High-ranked players should not be able to completely carry their lower-ranked friends. If you queue up with your Diamond II friend as a Bronze III player, you’ll have a hard time!

Penalties

A ranked queue places a heavy emphasis on players staying until the very last second, unlike regular games. In such a case, you will be blocked from playing any other game queue if you abandon the game while your teammates are still attempting to revive you. If you abandon the game repeatedly in a short period, the penalty increases to 10 minutes.

If 150 seconds pass without a teammate respawning them after they have taken up their banner or if the timer on their banner expires, players can exit the game without risk.

When a player abandons the match, they forfeit any RP they would’ve earned for that match as well. If the game is disconnected before the dropship phase, their assigned (matchmade) teammates can leave without incurring the associated leaver penalty. Players that were in the same party as the disconnected player, will receive an “abandon” penalty.

Apex Legends Ranking System Rewards

The highest tier achieved by players during two splits in each ranked season determines the rewards they receive at the end of each season. Every player receives a badge highlighting their highest achievement. Gold and above players receive a special charm to remember their achievements. Each diamond player receives a special dive trail that they can use during the next season. When the owner leaves the dropship, all players will see the dive trail, which is colored according to the tier reached.

Things to keep in mind

  • Due to the prohibitive price of 60 RP per match, Apex Predators can lose their rank if someone else gets more RP than they do. Finishing matches without getting a lot of RP will also put you at risk of losing ranks.
  • In unranked matches, two maps are rotated every few hours to diversify the gameplay and provide players with more options. It is roughly halfway through a ranked season that a ranked game uses the same map for all matches for half of each season, called a split.
  • When a split happens, every player’s RP is partially reset, lowering their rank by 1.5 tiers. This is an effective approach to move inactive players down the list of tiers and promote fresh potential.

So this was everything you needed to know about the Apex Legends Ranking System. You will have to be careful with it as it is not that easy.
