According to Euro United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.
The Frenchman, 19, has shone in the Bundesliga, establishing himself to be one of the finest defensive prospects in Europe at the moment. He made 43 appearances for RB Leipzig in all competitions this season and was in them finishing third in the Bundesliga.
Ibrahima Konate signed for RB Leipzig in 2017 from FC Sochaux and has been progressing well at the Red Bull Arena. He has a contract until June 2023, which was only signed in January of this year, so there’s no pressure for Leipzig to sell.
However, the teenager’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with a trio of Premier League clubs now interested in his signature. Keeping that in mind, Arsenal must do everything possible to win the race for Konate’s signature.
Arsenal failed to make it to the top four this past season but they still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season by winning the Europa League final against Chelsea. Unai Emery’s aim will be to win the Europa League as not only will it be the Gunners’ ticket for the Champions League, but also boost the Spanish manager’s transfer budget.
After finishing fifth in the Premier League, Emery will be keen to add new players to his squad. There are a lot of areas that require strengthening and the defence is one of them. Arsenal leaked 51 goals in the league which was more than the likes of Wolves, Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United.
The Gunners already have a plethora of central defenders at their disposal, particularly following the return of Calum Chambers from his loan spell at Fulham. But with Laurent Koscielny at the twilight of his career, Shkodran Mustafi inconsistent and Rob Holding sidelined with cruciate ligament injury, the north London giants can certainly do well with the addition of Ibrahima Konate.
The France youth international is not only a rock-solid defender but someone with excellent ball-playing abilities. He possesses the confidence on the ball and can break the lines with his adventurous passing. Konate is a commanding presence in the box, capable of consistently winning aerial duels and regaining possession for his team.

Despite standing 6ft 3in tall, the 19-year-old is lightening quick through the ground. He is still a raw material and needs to improve his passing. If Konate can improve his passing, he will be an even greater offensive asset in any team.
Arsenal are in dire need of defensive reinforcements and signing Konate would be a step in the right direction, as the young Frenchman has the potential to become the best in the business in the near future.
