According to a report from Calciomercato, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marcelo Brozovic, whose time at Inter Milan could be soon coming to an end.
The Croatian midfielder, 26, has been a key player under Luciano Spalletti this season, starting 25 Serie A games for Inter. But the report claims that the Italian side are thinking of sacrificing Marcelo Brozovic in the summer, with the Nerazzuri hoping to rebuild their midfield with the likes of Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic and Nico Barella of Cagliari.
Keeping the situation in mind, Arsenal should beat their bitter rivals Tottenham to the signature of the 26-year-old in the summer.
Aaron Ramsey is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer and will join Juventus on a free transfer. He signed a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A giants in February.
Despite knowing he will no longer be an Arsenal player beyond the summer, the Wales international has still been a key member of Unai Emery’s squad and recently scored in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.
The 28-year-old’s departure at the end of the season would leave a big hole in the Arsenal midfield which Emery should prioritise addressing in the summer transfer window. Even though Brozovic has excelled as a deep-lying playmaker in the last couple of season at Inter, he could be a solid replacement for the Juventus-bound Ramsey due to his versatility.
Brozovic is a strong dribbler, has a terrific passing range, especially in threading through passes into the onrushing attackers, and is extremely creative in the final third. He can control the tempo of the game, dictating terms, orchestrating attacks as well as shielding the backline.
Adept at recycling possession and carrying the ball forward, the Croat can pick a pass and exploit little spaces in midfield to run the show. The 26-year-old is a tenacious customer who never shies away from jumping into challenges.
He has a habit of picking up bookings due to his combative nature and the Gunners could do well by having another such presence alongside the diminutive Lucas Torreira. He is a fantastic distributor of the ball and has tremendous body balance which makes it hard for the opposition players to dispossess him.

Brozovic, however, lacks pace and is hardly a goal-threat but his other qualities could make him an asset at the Emirates. His positional awareness, strength and work rate are quite impressive, whilst offering much-needed depth and experience to the Arsenal midfield.
Emery would love a player like Brozovic in his ranks. The 26-year-old’s passing range combined with his work-rate, energy and defensive diligence will add a lot of value to the Arsenal team but the Gunners will have to make an irresistible offer to bag his signature.
