Why Myron Boadu would be a good future investment for Arsenal

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal4u.com (h/t Football.London), AZ Alkmaar striker Myron Boadu has caught the attention of Premier League side Arsenal.

The Gunners view the 19-year-old Boadu as a potential replacement for their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose future at the club remains an uncertainty as of now. Despite Arsenal’s poor show in the league this season, Aubameyang has been sensational, scoring a massive 17 goals.

He is Arsenal’s top goal scorer in the league and is way ahead of other Gunners stars in terms of individual display. Except for Aubameyang, the rest of the Arsenal attackers have mostly been inconsistent and failed to impress.

Arsenal’s other forward, Alexandre Lacazette has been far from good, managing just 7 goals till now. The Gunners also have two other forwards in youngsters Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah. Martinelli has had a breakthrough season, scoring three, however, he still lacks experience.

The same goes for Nketiah, who recently returned from a loan spell at Leeds United. That said, Arsenal’s pursuit of a young and goal-scoring youngster such as Boadu does not come as a surprise.

The 19-year-old finisher has been grabbing the headlines in Holland with his goal-scoring prowess. Despite his young age, the Dutch lad has established himself as one of the first names in the Alkmaar teamsheet with his remarkable form in front of goal.

He has banged in a whopping 20 goals from 39 matches across all competitions this season. Boadu’s exceptional passing skills have also been on display, with the teenager assisting 13 times from as many games.

Boadu’s finishing skills were already out in the open when he turned heads last season, scoring three goals and giving two assists from 8 matches. He is, at the moment, Alkmaar’s best performer with the highest number of goals and assists by any player in the side.

His eye-catching form has even helped Alkmaar climb to second place in the league standings but level on points with leaders Ajax, who are first due to a better goal difference.

His displays are a testament to the fact that he is a top talent and can play at the highest level. Considering his form right now, this seems like the best chance for Arsenal to buy him.

Verdict

Boadu seems to be a real talent, having proved himself at the highest level already. Considering the form that he is in at the moment, he could prove to be a good future replacement for Aubameyang.

Also, Arsenal lack a consistent goal-scorer other than Aubameyang. Hence, roping in the teenage sensation feels like a step in the right direction.
