How would Ever Banega fit into Arsenal’s line-up?

Arsenal have been quite active in the ongoing transfer window since the arrival of Unai Emery. The Gunners have already completed deals for Juventus right-back Stephan Lichsteiner and Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Things are starting to look different and Arsenal faces are starting to cheer up as the Gunners embark upon a new journey after Arsene Wenger’s departure.

Emery must turn this team into genuine title contenders next season. The manager’s career has been trophy-laden so far and he brings in a vast amount of experience. Over the last few days, the Spanish coach has been reportedly tracking Argentinian midfielder Ever Banega.

The 29-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign with his club Sevilla, making 25 appearances in the La Liga last season. In that time, he went on to score 3 goals and provide 3 assists.

The 29-year-old also scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists in 9 Champions League appearances. In fact, he played a vital role in their win over Manchester United.

A move for Banega makes sense now that Jack Wilshere has announced his departure from the Emirates this summer. Thus, Emery will need new faces in the midfield, and Banega could be the solution. He is currently in Russia representing his country for the World Cup. Here, we take a look at how Banega would fit into this Arsenal team.

Manager- Unai Emery

Formation- 4-3-1-2

Granit Xhaka (LCM)

Xhaka has been impressive for the Gunners since his arrival. His ability to pass and take long-range shots makes him stand out in the midfield. He should be a regular starter under Emery.

Ever Banega (CM)

Ever Banega should be slotted into the centre of the midfield. His distribution will help bring stability in the middle of the park. The Argentinian is also capable of putting in a defensive shift if needed. He would be the perfect box-to-box player for the Gunners.

Aaron Ramsey (RCM)

Ramsey has always shown immense class and potential whenever he is on the pitch. But the Welshman is often out for prolonged periods through injury. When he is fit and firing, he’s one of the best central midfielders in the league. If he can stay fit under Emery, he’s a sure pick for the starting XI.

Mesut Ozil (CAM)

Ozil would take up the central attacking role in the midfield. The German’s creativity and vision are undisputed and the Gunners will need him to pull the strings in attack. Ozil will play a supporting role behind the two strikers.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

Lacazette enjoyed an impressive debut campaign and he could take his game to the next level in the coming season. The striker was often rotated with Welbeck and Aubameyang, but when given a run for his money, he always delivers.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (ST)

Aubameyang managed to score 10 goals in 12 appearances for the Gunners. And the Gabon international only arrived in January. One can only imagine his numbers next season, provided he maintains his form. He will certainly partner Lacazette in the attack and the duo could form a deadly partnership.
