Arsenal Opinion: Why Nadiem Amiri would be a smart signing for Arsenal?
Another summer transfer window and Arsenal can forget big money signings, again. They have failed to qualify for the Champions League next season which means manager Unai Emery has just £45million to rebuild squad this summer.
The Gunners have already lost Aaron Ramsey to Juventus, with the 28-year-old signing for the Italian giants on a free transfer. That has left them with just three first-team midfield stars at their disposal and that isn’t enough for a team which aspires to compete for the Premier League title and other trophies next season.
Unai Emery needs to add at least a few new stars to his squad and while they will not be world-class options, the players should definitely possess quality and capable of making an instant impact. Finding quality players on a cheap won’t be easy but it does seem to be the best way forward for Arsenal at the moment.
The North London heavyweights were heavily linked with a move for Hoffenheim star, Nadiem Amiri, last season. A move didn’t happen then, but the Gunners must rekindle their interest and try signing the midfielder this summer.
Nadiem Amiri, 22, didn’t have the best of seasons in Hoffenheim colours due to injury problems. He managed just 13 Bundesliga outings, scoring three goals and assisting once. Despite spent majority of the 2018/19 on the sidelines, Arsenal making a move for Amiri now would help them hit new heights in the near future.
Amiri will be highly attainable for Emery and Arsenal, as The Sun claims that the playmaker has a £15million release clause in his current contract. The 22-year-old is a creative playmaker by trade but he can play in various positions across the midfield as per the manager’s requirement. Thus, he’ll provide flexibility to Emery and could be the perfect replacement for the departed Ramsey.
The former Germany youth international has fantastic vision which makes him tailor-made for the no.10 role from where he creates chances for his teammates. He likes to create his own space in midfield and take dangerous positions in the attacking third. Amiri works really hard off the ball and his defensive contributions can match his attacking potential in games.

The 22-year-old has good stamina and speed, using it very intelligently over the course of the season. He has impressive concentration and ability to distribute the ball with ease, and would suit Emery’s style of play at the Emirates.
Verdict
Nadiem Amiri may not be the superstar that Arsenal fans may demand from the club but he’s someone with the potential to become that. With a little time and the right guidance, the 22-year-old can go a long way.
