Aryna Sabalenka hails from Minsk, the capital of Belarus, and her late father, Sergey, was a former ice hockey player. Her journey into tennis was quite serendipitous. She explained that one day, while her dad was driving her somewhere, they spotted tennis courts and decided to give it a try. She quickly developed a strong affinity for the sport, and that’s how her tennis journey began.

She commenced her formal training at the National Tennis Academy in Minsk when it opened its doors in 2014. In 2015, despite still being eligible for junior tournaments, the Belarusian Tennis Federation encouraged Sabalenka and her team to focus on participating in lower-level professional events.

Aryna Sabalenka was born to her parents, Sergey and Yulia Sabalenka. Her father, Sergey, played a pivotal role in introducing her to tennis, which she grew to love and eventually pursued professionally. Tragically, Sergey, a former hockey player, passed away in 2019 at the age of 43 due to health complications.

Regarding her mother, Yulia, Aryna has kept her personal life quite private, and not much information is available about her. While Aryna actively shares aspects of her life on social media, there are limited pictures or updates about her family life, except for occasional mentions of her boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov.

Sabalenka is known for her highly aggressive playing style, often tallying a substantial number of winners and unforced errors. Her considerable height also contributes to her game, as she wields a potent and powerful serve.
