Cameron Norrie

The British No. 1 began the year with some fine results at the 2023 United Cup. He managed to defeat the mighty Rafael Nadal and the in-form Taylor Fritz in the tournament.

Norrie is one of the favorites to go the distance in Auckland. He received a bye into the round of 16 and will play his first match in the tournament against Lehecka. The southpaw will look to have a deep run in the tournament and have ample practice ahead of the Australian Open. Norrie did not have a great campaign in last year’s Australian Open as he was ousted in the first round. He will hope for a better campaign in this edition and some good practice at the ASB Classic will hold him in good stead.

Jiri Lehecka

After ending last season with a runner-up finish at the Next Gen ATP Finals, Jiri Lehecka began the new season at the United Cup. His best moment in the inaugural edition of the 18-team tournament came against Alexander Zverev. The star from the Czech Republic defeated the former world No. 2 in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

Cameron Norrie defeated Jiri Lehecka in the 2021 Davis Cup Finals in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.

Prediction: Cameron Norrie to win in straight sets.
