Assassins Creed Liberation Steam edition will no longer be available on the platform. Read below to know if you can play it or not.
The game takes players into 18th-century Louisiana and puts you in the role of Assassin Aveline de Grandpré, who is similar to previous protagonists in the series. As Aveline uses the same engine as Assassin’s Creed III, most of the animations from that game have been used again. However, the new blowpipe can also be dual-wielded with familiar knives, pistols, swords, and hidden blades, allowing Aveline to take full control of the entire arsenal.
Among Liberation’s exclusive gameplay mechanics is its Chain Kill ability, which enables Aveline to chain attacks together to kill multiple enemies at once. It also has a trading system, in which Aveline purchases goods from other cities and sells them via ship; and its ability to switch between Aveline’s three distinct personas. The Assassins Creed Liberation steam version will no longer be available for gamers.
Steam has removed the only Assassin’s Creed game featuring a black female lead. With Assassins Creed Liberation Steam edition delisted by Ubisoft, this action-adventure game can no longer be purchased – and you won’t even be able to play it after September if you already own it. Read below to know everything about it.
Assassins Creed Liberation Steam edition removed
It was announced just a few days ago that Ubisoft would shut down online services for several PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games. The move seems pretty typical, as it has been the case with several other older titles as well.
In Ubisoft’s case, the closure goes beyond just shutting down multiplayer services. In addition to online services, players will also be unable to access any DLC that came with the game. The community was not pleased with the fact that gamers had purchased those DLCs but were still being shut out.
Assassins Creed Liberation Steam edition has been removed and it was not even part of Ubisoft’s list of games that were going to be removed. There was confusion about whether the Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD bundled with Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered will be accessible since Ubisoft informed fans that remaster were not affected. It is unclear as no official statement has been given yet.
Conclusion
In the past, if you owned a game that was taken off the market, you could continue to play it. On the other hand, the Assassin’s Creed Liberation Steam page indicates that the game “will not be available after September 1st, 2022.”
It appears that this single-player Assassin’s Creed game won’t be available on the publisher’s own Ubisoft Connect storefront as well, so you won’t be able to play it even if you have it in your Steam library. Although the cause for the delisting is unclear, Liberation has reportedly experienced technical issues for some time, at least based on Steam reviews.
