According to Mirror, David Brooks is on the wishlist of Aston Villa manager, Dean Smith. Villa are keen to bolster their squad and Brooks is one of the few names that they have narrowed down on. It is being said that Smith wants to reinforce the right side of his attack with the £40million-rated Brooks.
Aston Villa have had an encouraging start to the season. They thrashed champions Liverpool by a scarcely believable scoreline, tore apart Arsenal and even managed to nick a win against Leicester City. New signings Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley have started like a house on fire. Jack Grealish has continued on his merry form from last season.
Even the likes of Anwar El Ghazi have been in great form. With 8 wins from 15 games, Villa have looked the real deal this season. However, they cannot get complacent. Villa should try to amp up their team even more and the signing of David Brooks would go a long way in doing that.
That’s one of the key reasons why the Villans need to bring in a few upgrades on their existing attacking options.
Brooks’ ability to score as well as create goals for his teammates, as evident from his track record, could hand a boost to Villa’s bid for a top-half finish.
There are few better than Dean Smith when it comes to extracting the best out of young players. The arrival of Brooks would definitely offer the tactician with some top-quality talent to work with.
Essentially a No.10 by trade, Brooks is also versatile enough to slot into a wide attacking role on either flank. This should certainly improve the manager’s squad dynamics.
All in all, Brooks not only fits the bill as an immediate game-changer at Villa Park but at 23, he still has plenty of room for improvement to deliver his massive potential in the years to come.
Adding him would further bolster the quality and the potency of their attack, which would only help them sustain their form over the course of the entire season.
