HomeSports NewsHow many athletes are competing in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics: Who are representing Team USA?

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is finally upon us and here are the athletes representing Team USA

The 2022 Winter Olympics is finally here and there are several medals up for grabs as 91 nations vie to showcase their talented athletes.

The Winter Games might not be as big as the Summer Olympics but that has not stopped stars from turning into legends for their performances.

The United States is one such country which has tried to win every single Winter Olympics. They have sent a team for every edition of the game and the same is true for 2022.

However, they have never come out on top in the Winter Olympics rankings, which has been dominated by Russia since the start of the competition.

The best the US has finished is in second place which was during the 2006 Turin Games. Nevertheless, the US has competition from several countries and athletes, with 2,871 sportspeople participating in the games.

There are 109 events in 7 sports across 15 disciplines and the US seems to have an athlete for each sport.

The US has won the most medals in speed skating with 29 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze for a total of 68 before the 2022 Olympics.

Figure skating comes in second with 51 medals, however, if we are to look at golds, then it is alpine skiing that comes in second with 17 gold.
