The sixth-seeded team of Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool take on the team of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in a group-stage encounter at the ATP Finals on Thursday.
Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool
The Finnish-British duo of Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool have been one of the best serving teams in the competition. They have won one match and lost the other in the competition so far.
In the opening encounter, they defeated the 2022 French Open champions Jean-Julien Rojer and Marcelo Arevalo being almost untouchable on their serves. The match ended 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) in favor of Glasspool and Heliovaara. In the second encounter, Heliovaara and Glasspool were bettered by the experienced duo of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. The second-seeded team won the match 7-5, 6-4.
Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos
The Spanish-Argentine duo has not had a great tournament so far. They are still searching for their first win in the competition.
In the first match, Granollers and Zeballos produced a good fight against Salisbury and Ram. After going down in the first set, the seventh-seeded team bounced back to take the second set. Salisbury and Ram eventually won the match 6-3, 6-7 (8-10), 10-8. In the second match, Granollers and Zeballos once again lost the first set before coming back to win the second set. The third-seeded team eventually won the match 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 10-7.
Prediction
This match is tough to predict as the two teams have shown their capabilities in certain moments. Both teams still have a chance to go through. However, a win will not be enough as they would still have to look at the result between Arevalo/Roger and Salisbury/Ram later on.
Prediction: Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool to win in three sets.
