Danielle Collins

The world No. 38 did not have a memorable campaign in the Dubai Tennis Championships last month. She was comprehensively beaten by the talented Linda Fruhvirtova. However, Collins has managed to bounce back with a gritty win against Magdalena Frech in the round of 32 of the ATX Open.

The first set was highly competitive as both women gave their best. In the end, it was the Polish star who bagged the set in the tiebreak. Collins didn’t get bogged down and produced a memorable turnaround to beat Frech 6-7 (7-9), 6-2, 6-4. Something the American veteran would want to keep a check on is the number of double faults she committed in the match. She gave 8 points to Frech in double faults.

Caty McNally

Unlike Collins, Caty McNally had a fine campaign in the most recent tournament she played before coming to compete in the ATX Open. McNally played in the Merida Open last week and managed to reach the semifinals with wins against Lin Zhu, Katie Volynets, and Kimberly Birrell. She also won the doubles event alongside Diane Parry.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

This will be the first meeting between Danielle Collins and Caty McNally. Therefore, the head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 0-0.

Prediction: Danielle Collins to win in three sets.
