He then moved to the Bellator and found immense success, which paved a way for moving into the best MMA promotion in the world – UFC.
Sakai continued his exploits in the UFC as well, before coming to a halt against Alistair Overeem in his last fight. He is now scheduled to take on Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event of UFC Fight Night 189.
Sakai is estimated to have a net worth of $1 million- $5 million. Not much is known about the largely private man, who usually stays away from the limelight.
His last fight earnings is reported to be around $59,000 for his loss against Alistair Overeem in September, 2020.
Sakai has an impressive record of 15 wins and just 2 losses. He started off his career at the Adventure Fighters Tournament and soon made his way into the Bellator after going 4-0 up in his career.
Sakai won 4 fights in a row during his time at Bellator before hitting a minor blip. He had his first draw against Dan Charles at Bellator 155, which was followed by a split decision loss to Cheick Kongo at Bellator 179.
He then moved to the UFC, entering via. Dana White’s contender series. He made his UFC debut against Chase Sherman in September 2018. He then won 3 fights in a row, which included victories against Andrei Arlovski and Marcin Tybura.
Unfortunately he faced his first ever loss in the UFC against the legendary Alistair Overeem. He lost the fight via. TKO in the final round. Sakai currently has a UFC record of 4 wins and 1 loss.

Coming to his endorsements, Sakai endorses a Brazilian supplement brand Cabano do Atleta. Plus, he recently partnered with a meat brand Casa de Carnes Trevizzo in Brazil.
Augusto Sakai takes on the dangerous ‘Bigi Boy’ Jairzinho Rozenstruik of Suriname. He is just a couple of days away from his fight with Rozenstruik. Their event is set to headline UFC Fight Night 189.
Sakai is coming off his first-ever UFC loss, against veteran Alistair Overeem last September. That was the first time Sakai was ever finished in his MMA career. Rozenstruik, on the other hand, is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Ciryl Gane in February, this year.
