The team of Arthur Rinderknech and Benjamin Bonzi take on the team of Jan Zielinski and Hugo Nys in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Australian Open on Tuesday.
The French duo has had to show a lot of perseverance in the competition thus far. They began the tournament with a relatively comfortable win in the first round against the Aussie duo of John Millman and Aleksandar Vukic.
In the second round, Rinderknech and Bonzi registered an excellent come-from-behind win against the team of Ariel Behar and Nicolas Barrientos. In the third round, Bonzi and Rinderknech got the better of the 12th-seeded team of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah. Zielinski and Nys began the campaign at the Australian Open with a first-round win against the 13th-seeded team of David Vega Hernandez and Rafael Matos. They lost the first set but came back strongly to win 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-4. In the second round, they defeated the Aussie duo of Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson after once again dropping the first set. The match ended 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-7). Zielinski and Nys had their toughest match in the third round as they took on the second-seeded team of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. The experienced duo won the first set. However, for the third consecutive time, Zielinski and Nys came back from behind to win the match 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
