The 26-year-old put on a great show of resilience in his first match of the Australian Open on Monday. He faced a confident Soon-woo Kwon who came into the tournament after winning the Adelaide International 2.

Eubanks managed to win the first set before the South Korean bounced back to win a closely-contested second set. Eubanks bagged the third and fifth sets to win the match 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. The impressive American managed to hit a staggering total of 42 aces compared to just 10 that were hit by his opponent. This is the first time Eubanks has managed to reach the second round at the Australian Open.

Runner-up at the 2022 Next Gen Atp Finals, Jiri Lehecka competed in the 2023 ASB Classic and crashed out of the tournament in the round of 16.

Lehecka faced 21st seed Borna Coric in the first round of the Australian Open. The 21-year-old dominated the contest and won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the second round for the first time. The No. 1 Czech player hit 7 aces during the match and had a win percentage of 78 in the competition.
