The third-seeded team came into the tournament on the back of a triumphant campaign in the Adelaide International 2 where they won just two matches en route to the title.

Rojer and Arevalo won their first-round clash against Diego Hidalgo and Emil Ruusuvuori in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 (7-1). They had a win percentage of 85 on the first serve. They followed it up with another fine performance against the Japanese duo of Yoshihito Nishioka and Ben McLachlan and won the match in straight sets 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. In the third round, they defeated the 16th-seeded team of Matwe Middelkoop and Robin Haase 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).

Like Arevalo and Rojer, the French duo has also not lost a set so far in the competition. They began with a gritty win against Albano Olivetti and Maxime Cressy. The French-American duo’s 9 double faults also benefited Martin and Chardy.

Martin and Chardy went on to beat the Indian duo of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and N. Sriram Balaji 6-4, 6-4. They followed it up with another fine win against the impressive Jiri Lehecka and Alex Molcan 7-6 (7-2), 6-3. Martin and Chardy will need to play their A-game against Arevalo and Rojer. This promises to be an interesting encounter between two teams that are quite good on serves.

Prediction: Jean-Julien Rojer and Marcelo Arevalo to win in straight sets.
