The French duo of Jeremy Chardy & Fabrice Martin take on Hugo Nys & Jan Zielinski in the semifinals of the 2023 Australian Open on Thursday.

Chardy and Martin have just lost one set in the competition thus far. They began their campaign with a hard-fought 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win against Albano Olivetti and Maxime Cressy in the first round. In the second round, Chardy and Martin got the better of the Indian duo of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and N. Sriram Balaji in two competitive sets 6-4, 6-4.
Chardy and Martin edged past the team of Jiri Lehecka and Alex Molcan in the third round. Both teams played great tennis but Chardy and Martin were on song and picked up a 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 win. In the quarterfinals, Martin and Chardy played the third-seeded team of Jean-Julien Rojer and Marcelo Arevalo. The first set was won by Chardy and Martin with ease but their opponents bounced back superbly to claim the second set. In the third set, both teams gave it all out but Martin and Chardy came up trumps, winning 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (10-4).
Hugo Nys & Jan Zielinski
They came into the tournament with a 2-2 result in the new season. They have bettered it to 6-2 here in Melbourne Park.
Nys and Zielinski bounced back from a set down to defeat the 13th-seeded team of David Vega Hernandez and Rafael Matos. In the second round, they once again came back from a set down to defeat Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson. For the third consecutive time, Nys and Zielinski produced a stunning come-from-behind win at this year’s Australian Open by defeating the 2nd-seeded team of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 6-2. For the first time in the competition, Nys and Zielinski won their first set of a match. They dominated the French duo of Arthur Rinderknech and Benjamin Bonzi in a one-sided affair. The match ended 6-1, 6-4.
Prediction: Jeremy Chardy & Fabrice Martin to win in three sets.
