Sania Mirza and Anna Danilina lock horns with Alison Van Uytvanck and Anhelina Kalinina in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open on Saturday.

The 36-year-old Sania Mirza is playing her final Australian Open. She is teaming up with Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina. Prior to the Australian Open, the duo took part in the Adelaide International 2. However, their campaign ended in the round of 16 as they lost to the top-seeded team of Barbora Krejcikova and Storm Sanders.
In the first round of the Australian Open, the 8th-seeded team got the better of Dalma Galfi and Bernarda Pera in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Mirza and Danilina wrapped up the first set in just under half an hour. They had to fight hard in the second set after initially taking a 4-1 lead. This win will give the team of Mirza and Danilina a lot of confidence going ahead in the competition.
Alison Van Uytvanck and Anhelina Kalinina
The Belgian-Ukrainian duo began their campaign in the Australian Open with a relatively comfortable win against the team of Eri Hozumi and Tamara Zidansek.
Van Uytvanck and Kalinina won the match 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. Both women have crashed out of the singles event and they will now hope to have a deep run in the doubles event. Van Uytvanck and Kalinina have made it to the second round of the doubles event for the first time at the Australian Open.
