The Indian duo of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna take on Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk in the semifinals of the 2023 Australian Open on Wednesday.

Sania Mirza is playing her final Grand Slam tournament. She was ousted in the women’s doubles event and the mixed doubles event is her last chance to add another major title to her trophy cabinet. Mirza has compatriot Rohan Bopanna on her side and he will be determined to give her a fitting farewell as far as her Grand Slam career is concerned.
Mirza and Bopanna began with a comfortable 7-5, 6-3 win against the Australian duo of Jaimee Fourlis and Luke Saville. They followed it up with another win in straight sets against the team of Ariel Behar and Makoto Ninomiya. The match ended 6-4, 7-6 (11-9) in favor of the Indian duo. Ahead of the quarterfinals, Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez pulled out and Mirza and Bopanna advanced to the semis.

The third-seeded team have had to show a lot of perseverance en route to the semis. The 2022 Wimbledon champions are the favorites to win the competition.
Skupski and Krawczyk had a testing start to the tournament as they were taken to the limit by the Aussie duo of Storm Sanders and John Peers. After losing the first set, Skupski and Krawczyk bounced back to win 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (14-12), 10-8. The second-round clash against another Aussie duo – Andrew Harris and Alana Parnaby turned out to be a one-sided affair as Skupski and Krawczyk won 6-2, 6-4.
