Australian Open 2023: Siniakova/Krejcikova vs Parks/Kalashnikova – Preview, Predictions, Head-to-head and Stats

Published by

Parks and Kalashnikova will take on number-one seeds Siniakova and Krejcikova in the third round of the Australian Open

Parks and Kalashnikova are a relatively new pairing but they have been pretty impressive so far at the Australian Open. The US-Georgian pair began their campaign with a thrilling three-sets win against the Italian duo of Paolini and Trevisan. In the second round, they defeated the all-US pairing of Santamaria and Liu. In both their matches, Parks and Kalashnikova has had to fight hard to register a victory and they would have to be more clinical in their next match to have any chance of prevailing against the top seeds.

The top seeds have been at their sublime best in the recent past. The Czech duo began their campaign Downunder with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win over Harrison and Eikeri. In the second round, they defeated the US-Czech duo of Riske and Fruhvirtova in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. The Czech pair is certainly the team to beat and will pose a strong challenge against anyone coming in their way.

Head-to-head and Predictions

Siniakova/Krejcikova and Parks/Kalashnikova haven’t faced each other before on the WTA tour. This will be the first professional meeting between the two pairs. Siniakova/Krejcikova are the clear favourites going into this match both in terms of experience and rankings. It will be an uphill task for Parks/Kalashnikova in this encounter, but they will pose a tough challenge. We are predicting a win in straight sets for Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova.
