AVL vs MCI Dream 11: Can Villa pull off a shock win over Manchester City

Manchester City took a couple of points off Liverpool at the top of the table after the Reds were held by Manchester United.

The Cityzens won 2-0 against Crystal Palace but it could have been a lot more. They were in action during midweek too and easily defeated Atalanta in the Champions League.

Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick and the Cityzens can put more pressure on the Reds by beating Aston Villa.

The Villans seem to be finding their place in the top division again and have won two games in a row.

Jack Grealish has been in great form but facing City at the Etihad will be a tough proposition.

However, City have their injury problems with Rodri missing due to a hamstring injury and Oleksandr Zinchenko undergoing knee surgery which should keep him out for a while.

On paper, City should be easy winners of this game but things are never that easy in the Premier League.

The Cityzens have struggled at the back and it could be a tough night if Villa target their centre-backs.

The newly-promoted Villans have put up some impressive displays this season and could hit City on the counter, similar to what Wolves did.

Dream 11 requires a mix of players from both sides in a team, and that could land a huge haul of points.

Goalkeeper

Tom Heaton gets the nod for this position only because there could be a lot of goals scored from both sides.

Keeping more Manchester City attackers than Villa’s would be the right call to make.

Defenders

Matt Targett is the only Villa defender that should be selected thanks to his work down the left.

Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy could create a ton of chances for Manchester City in the clash, and they should get some points.

Midfielders

The midfield sees a split between the Villa and City players.

John McGinn and Grealish could do a lot of damage to the City defence and they will have to put in a shift on Saturday.

The majority of City’s chances are created by Kevin de Bruyne and the Belgian could be one of the keys to winning the game for the home side.

Bernardo Silva has been in excellent form since last season, and the Portugal star is the second City player in the midfield.

Strikers

Gabriel Jesus did a great job against Palace and gets the nod ahead of Sergio Aguero for this clash.

Sterling has to be in the team thanks to his excellent form while Trezeguet from Villa could get some points after a great performance against Brighton last week.

Captain and Vice-captain

De Bruyne should be the captain for this game while Sterling should be named as the vice-captain.

Prediction

City should be too powerful for Villa, even if they have had a tough time in recent weeks.

The home side should win the game easily and it could be a big scoreline for the Manchester team.
