The successor to the fan favorite zombie game is here with various different characters called Cleaners. Here is our Back 4 Blood Character tier list to help you choose the best one.
Back 4 Blood is a co-op zombie looter shooter for four players based on the Left 4 Dead series. After months of beta testing, gamers now have access to the full version of Back 4 Blood, which appears to satisfy all expectations. Back 4 Blood allows players to take on the Ridden as one of eight cleaners or playable characters. The following is a tier list for Back 4 Blood Cleaners, which ranks all of the game’s playable characters.
Tier | Back 4 Blood Cleaners |
A | Hoffman, Doc, Jim |
B | Evangelo, Holly |
C | Mom, Karlee |
D | Walker |
Hoffman is the Cleaner to choose if you enjoy shooting a variety of firearms. Hoffman is the team’s weapons specialist, and when you combine that with his excellent shooting and aiming abilities, there’s no one better. Hoffman will gain extra ammo every time he kills a Ridden, so don’t worry about that, and he will also enhance the team’s moving speed by 5%. Hoffman can be unlocked by completing the first four objectives of Act 1.
Trauma damage is one of the more difficult aspects of Back 4 Blood to manage with. You won’t be able to heal this using standard medical supplies and bandages. You must locate med stations, which are located in closed rooms and require tool kits. Doc’s ability to provide the team with 25% trauma resistance allows her allies to absorb less unrecoverable damage. This increases the effectiveness of cures since they can restore normal health. Her 20% healing effectiveness forces her to take on the role of a true healer.
In Back 4 Blood, players can choose Jim, another attack-heavy cleaner. Every precision kill gives him a 2.5% increase in stacking damage and a 25% increase in aim. Apart from that, Jim improves the damage dealt by all teammates by 10%, particularly at the enemy’s weak places.
If you’re going to be in public lobbies, Evangelo can be a decent solo choice. When you have a team that will often ignore you when you are incapacitated, his ability to break out of grabs every 60 seconds is advantageous. Evangelo’s faster stamina recovery gives him an advantage when things get out of hand, but in a game where you’d want to stick with your teammates to secure your survival, Evangelo doesn’t offer much more than movement speed.
Holly earns 10% stamina every time she kills a Ridden or anyone else, thus she can nearly never run out of it while she’s at her finest. Holly has a 10% increase in damage resistance and can boost the team’s stamina by 25%. If you progress to harder difficulties, she’ll most certainly take a lot of damage from friendly fire. She may be entertaining, but her close-quarters combat poses a threat.
Mom is a healer-type character who looks after the entire squad, as her name suggests. At each level, Mom can resurrect all of her teammates once and assist with the support inventory. Aside from that, Mom provides the entire team an extra life. If you’d rather offer your team a second chance than be more involved as a healer, Mom is a suitable alternative to Doc.
Karlee is the Cleaner to choose in Back 4 Blood if stealth is your strong suit. Karle can detect dangers from afar and effectively guide the crew. Apart from that, Karlee has the ability to boost the team’s use speed by 50%. Karlee, unfortunately, is only particularly adept at recon and doesn’t shine in public situations. People will continue to charge into places and get seized, rendering most of her skills useless.
Walker is an attack-heavy character that may safely be referred to as the team’s muscle. Walter’s accuracy will improve for the next 20 seconds after each precise kill, and he will be able to do 10% more damage. Walker also improves the health of the entire team by 10%. He’s more of an initial character who is a good choice for the Recruit difficulty, but he gradually deteriorates in later missions and difficulties.
This was our Back 4 Blood character tier list for all the cleaners available in the game. If you haven’t unlocked the remaining cleaners in the game, you can refer to our guide to unlock the cleaners in Back 4 Blood. Back 4 Blood is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
